Bardor Tulku Rinpoche

Bardor Tulku Rinpoche was born in 1950 in Kham (East Tibet) and recognized by His Holiness the Sixteenth Gyalwa Karmapa as the third incarnation of the third Terchen Barway Dorje. In 1959, after fleeing Tibet's Communist Chinese invaders and arriving in India, he became an orphan and wandered in India with other homeless children. He was eventually taken to the Karmapa at Dharma Chakra Centre in Rumtek, Sikkim, where at age eleven, Rinpoche began his formal training.

Bardor Tulku Rinpoche traveled with the Karmapa on his world tours in 1974 and 1976, then remained in the United States to help guide the construction of Karma Triyana Dharmachakra (KTD), the Karmapa's North America seat. Since then he has lived and taught at KTD and toured throughout North America to teach and spread the dharma. He serves as the spiritual director of Hartford KTC and other KTD-affiliated dharma centers. He is also the founder of Kunzang Palchen Ling in Red Hook, New York, a center dedicated to promoting the practices and teachings of the Karma Kagyu lineage and supporting the redevelopment of Raktrul Monastery in Tibet.
